Anglo-Swedish rock band Alberta Cross is coming to Vancouver, playing the Fox Cabaret on May 14.

The tour is promoting the band’s self-titled third album, recorded at Dreamland, a former church, now studio, and marks a departure from their previous record contracts.

“This is soulful, untouched music coming purely from the artist,” says sole official member, Petter Ericson Stakee.

“They can love it or hate it, but at least they can’t complain that I’ve been changed by anyone. This is what I want to do. I made my record. No one told me to make it this way. I’m 100 percent responsible for it. Take it or leave it. But, I love you for listening to it.”

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time this Friday, April 8 at Live Nation or Red Cat Records.
