Nerds of Vancouver unite! Nerd Nite is back at the Fox Cabaret on March 22, to share geeky talks on badass princesses, beer studies and a bygone evolutionist.

“I’m a nerd. I’m pretty proud of it, but I want to be a better nerd,” said ‘co-boss’ Michael Unger in a press release.

“Nerd Nite is a more accessible Ted Talks, so we can nerd harder, faster, better, and drink beer.”

The night’s lineup features Jason Porath, who will speak about the Disneyfication of girlhood and the alternative female heroes and princesses you never knew about.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Lozano will toast all comers with a glass of malted yeast, and explain the science behind how yeast was discovered – and beer was brewed.

Finally, Dr. Greg Bole will share the incredible story of Alfred Russel Wallace, a forgotten co-discoverer of evolution, who fearlessly travelled the globe, from the Amazon to Melanesia.

Nerd Nite was founded in Boston in 2003, but has since spread to 80 cities around the world. This is the third year of ‘nerdery’ in Vancouver.
