After working in the Vancouver music scene as sidemen to some of the city’s most well-known bands for many years, brothers Mike and Dave Young (Devin Townsend Project, The Matinée) and Mike St-Jean (Devin Townsend Project) decided it was finally time to take centre stage themselves. Together with singer-songwriter Dominique Fricot, the musicians created the experimental quartet REGAL and released their debut EP, Don’t Stop, last year.

The album’s atmospheric arrangements, compelling vocals, and splintering, electronic production make quite a statement on their own, but the group would like to formally introduce themselves in a different, more interactive way – through video. REGAL will be releasing a series of live performance videos, the first of which was released in late February for the EP’s title track. The group plans to release two more over the next few weeks.

For those who’d like to meet REGAL in person, though, they’ll be performing at the Roxy, at Zulu Panda’s EP Release on March 16.

REGAL

When: March 16, 2016

Where: The Roxy – 932 Granville Street, Vancouver

Tickets: $5 available online
