Police are pleading for the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Surrey resident Shyla Billy.
According to the RCMP, she was last seen at 10:50 p.m. Friday night leaving her care home in the area of 63 Avenue and 126 Street.
Her disappearance has been deemed a high-risk as she has medical conditions that must be attended to regularly.
“Police are concerned for her well being as she is a young vulnerable
female that is insulin dependent requiring several injections per day,” reads a statement. “Additionally Shyla’s has several other medical issues that if left
untreated cause police concern for her well being.”
Billy has been described by police as a First Nations female, 5’6″ tall, 160 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. She may be wearing glasses and a nose ring in her right nostril.
Anyone who may have information on her location is asked to reach out to Surrey RCMP or a local police force.
