Upstairs at Campagnolo

If you find yourself “Upstairs at Campagnolo” for brunch consider sinking your teeth into the restaurant’s infamous “Dirty Burger.” Generally served on a Scottish Bap (a soft, floury bun) Upstairs at Campagnolo’s brunch burger is loaded with a 40 day dry aged beef patty (ground in-house), American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, and the restaurant’s secret sauce. It is a deliciously messy affair, especially if you choose to add a perfectly runny egg into the already hearty mix.

Beach Bay Cafe’s brunch burger is mouthwateringly good. It is a little more lunch-y than it is breakfast-y, consisting of chicken thighs from Inner City Farms marinated in buttermilk, smoked paprika, ground cumin, coriander, and fennel seeds. The chicken is marinated for three to five days, and then coated with instant mashed potato flakes with polenta. Downtown’s brunch-centric Café Medina offers a Harissa “Burger” on their menu. However, it isn’t one in the traditional sense of the word. It features two fried eggs, preserved lemon and harissa-spiced beef in a grilled pita along with parmesan, tomato salsa, spiced hummus, baba ganoush, and seasonal greens. While the dish does not fit the “burger norm” it certainly packs a punch.
