Vancouver police say a 16-year-old boy might be responsible for two sexual assaults that occurred on the Westside on Sunday night.

The first assault happened at around 10:15 p.m., when a woman walking her dog in the Alder Street and West 10th Avenue area was grabbed from behind by a stranger. When she screamed, her attacker ran off.

Only 15 minutes later, another woman walking her dog in the Birch Street and West 13th Avenue area was grabbed from behind and groped. Again, when she screamed, the attacker ran away.

The boy was arrested a short distance from where the sexual assaults took place.

The VPD say they will provide more information as it becomes available.
