The Canadian Internet Marketing Conference (CIMC) is just around the corner, and some of the world’s most recognized brands will be heading to Squamish on April 14 and 15 to share groundbreaking insights in the world of digital marketing.

If you haven’t had a chance to register yet, or still need a little help convincing your boss the event is an opportunity you simply can’t miss, here are 10 reasons why you need to attend the CIMC this April.

1) World-class speaker line up

CIMC may only be in its second year, but it has already attracted a stellar line-up of presenters. 2016 will be no different with companies like Google, eBay, Telus, Westjet, Disney Parks Canada, Twitter and Etsy all making an appearance.

2) Meet peers from around the globe

Over twice the size from last year, CIMC is drawing a global crowd of attendees that will be in Squamish to learn, network and generate new partnership opportunities.

3) Discover the future of digital marketing

Whether it’s a discussion on the integration of native advertising, the importance of influencer marketing or how adwords and SEO is evolving, there is certainly something for everyone when it comes to growing digital marketing.

4) Get outdoors

Part of the benefit of having the conference in Squamish is the beautiful natural setting that surrounds it. Conference organizers have planned a number of outdoor activities including hiking and biking tours for attendees to get out and enjoy nature with their fellow peers.

5) Turn knowledge into practical application

The conference isn’t all about listening to the amazing line-up of speakers. Several practical workshops and breakout sessions are scheduled to allow attendees to build out their skill set and make use of their newfound knowledge.

6) It’s not a mass-scale convention

CIMC is limiting it’s attendees to around 1,100 people, meaning that rather than getting lost in the crowd, attendees will truly get an opportunity to make some real connections and speak one-on-one with presenters.

7) There’s a strong local presence

While there are lost of global brands attending this year’s conference, Local companies are well represented as well. Companies like Herschel Supply Co, Vision Critical, Wishpond and Build Direct are just a few examples of Vancouver-based companies attending this year.

8) Learn to reach new market opportunities

Breaking into new markets can be challenging. Industry experts will talk about how to reach the ever-important Chinese market, how to develop an omni-channel network for retail, and how to effectively use event marketing to generate new opportunities.

9) There’s even a black tie event

As casual as the conference is, it wouldn’t be complete without an after party. Marwick Internet Marketing is hosting the official black tie event with all proceeds going to local Squamish charity initiatives.

10) There really isn’t anything like CIMC

Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler are becoming international destinations for business events, yet with all the talent coming in, there really isn’t anything else like CIMC available throughout the year. This is a can’t miss event.

Registration for CIMC is still open, but tickets are going fast. Full conference passes are $799 with single day tickets priced at $369. Students interested in attending can purchase passes for $199 with school ID.
