In the spirit of the new 2016 Honda HR-V, we’ve compiled a list of Vancouver’s top 10 views you can drive to. We’ve chosen City Hall as the starting point of your trip, and calculated the driving time for Vancouver’s best views.

Wreck Beach

This view is definitely worth the stair climbing, and greets you with a vibrant sunset when you sink your feet into the sand. Enjoy some food sitting on a log and bring a cozy sweater. Roughly 21 minutes from City Hall, you can enjoy a day-cation without any fuss.

Harbour Centre

Visit Gastown and play tourist, zipping to Harbour Centre in just 10 minutes. Coined “The Lookout”, this adventure takes you on a 40-second glass elevator ride 553 feet above the ground. Feast your eyes on Coal Harbour and Stanley Park from the observation deck, and don’t forget to bring your camera.

The Sea-to-Sky Gondola

Venture out of the city with a one-hour drive, and visit the Sea-to-Sky Gondola in Squamish. Enjoy a 10-minute gondola ride up the Howe Sound slope, which reaches 885 metres above sea level and can fit up to eight people. The heated front seats and roomy interior of the Honda HR-V make it ideal for transporting you and your friends from Vancouver to Squamish and back.

Granville Island

This one never gets old. Visit Vancouver’s industrial landmark that doubles as a shopping district, but more importantly, provides a great view. Grab some fish and chips and seat yourself on the outer pier. Gaze at False Creek and English Bay just metres away from top-tier restaurants, and only a nine-minute drive from City Hall. You can park your car on the island (many free spots), grab some fresh produce, and celebrate your day by driving home to cook a gourmet meal.

Grouse Mountain

It’s a 31-minute drive up to Grouse Mountain, where you can take the sky ride to reach the mountain’s peak. Score an unparalleled view of the ocean, mountains and Gulf Islands, finishing off with a relaxing dinner at the Observatory.

The Chief

If you’re considering a workout at the gym then hit the road instead with a one-hour drive north to The Chief. The moderately difficult hike includes chain pulls, stairs, ladders, and much more. Your reward? A breathtaking view of Howe Sound as the perfect finishing touch.

Deep Cove Lookout Trail

Experience the stunning views of Deep Cove by climbing up to Quarry Rock. Enjoy your 34-minute car ride to the trail’s base and unload your stuff for a casual hike. Bring your dog along for the off-leash forest, and stow away some classic trail mix to eat on the car ride home. With its All-Wheel Drive and Vehicle Stability Assist with Traction Control, the Honda HR-V is the perfect choice for a trek into the forest.

Capitol Hill

This view makes the perfect excuse for a carpool to Burnaby. Sit back and relax on Capitol Hill and enjoy a picturesque view of downtown Vancouver. Only a 24-minute drive from Vancouver’s City Hall.

Cypress View Point

A scenic 28-minute car ride takes you on an adventure to the Cypress View Point, located at the halfway mark on the mountain’s south side. Take some selfies with the panoramic city view as your background. Bring some snacks to munch on at the View Point’s picnic tables.

Jack Poole Plaza

Jump in the car and make your way to the Convention Centre to chill out at the Jack Poole Plaza, just an 11-minute drive from City Hall. You can eat your lunch and people-watch on Waterfront, and the bright blue ocean doesn’t hurt either.
