Renowned for its farm-to-table offerings, this West 4th dining destination will offer a special four-course menu for two on February 14. Priced at $50 per person (plus tax and gratuity) Fable’s Valentine’s Day menu will showcase delicious eats like baked oysters, an octopus salad, 48 hour braised short rib, and a hot chocolate mousse. Loved-up couples can parade their non-single status at Chinatown’s Sai Woo restaurant. Not only will the East Pender locale be offering their first ever brunch service, featuring a range of brunch time essentials and $7 Caesars, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., but it will also be hosting a special Valentine’s Day dinner, from 5 p.m. onwards. Couples can savour a specially crafted menu, priced $50 per person, which will include eats like beef Carpaccio, pan-seared ling cod, mango mousse, and truffle.

Eat your heart out at Beach Bay Café on Valentine’s Day with delectable West Coast fare. Diners can choose from a four-course tasting menu ($49 per person, wine pairings available at an additional cost), or order à la carte. Prepared by Executive Chef Felix Zhou, menu highlights include seared albacore tuna with carrot escabeche and saffron; scallops with sea urchin and granny smith apple; a duo of duck with lentils, mushroom ragout and kale; and coconut sorbet with apples and raspberries. Diners can also opt for Bar Manager Adrian Lindner’s special Valentine’s Day cocktail, The French Affair – a seductive mixture of sparkling wine, lillet, jasmine, chamomile and fresh green apple.

This stylish, award-winning downtown restaurant will be offering a six-course dinner on February 14, for $158 per person, and an additional $58 for wine pairings (tax and gratuity not included). Highlights of the six-course meal include Yukari cured hamachi, pickled purple vegetables, and coconut emulsion; Spanish turbot, tomato tarragon fish nage, and crispy potato; roasted Alberta beef tenderloin, and a dessert of dark chocolate, raspberry, and citrus.

Rainier Provisions

In celebration of the global day of love, Rainier Provisions is hosting a pop-up Valentine’s three-course dinner themed on the film 50 Shades of Grey, which premiered on Valentine’s Day last year. The Gastown eatery even appeared in the film; it was the setting where Christian Grey and Anastasia had their very first coffee date. This dark and sultry West End Spanish tapas bar is fantastically romantic. Diners who visit on Valentine’s Day evening will have the chance to order the restaurant’s specially prepared dish of grilled ox heart, crispy fingerling potatoes, garlic, rosemary, lardo, and romesco sauce ($13). España won’t be accepting reservations, so seating will be based on a first come, first serve basis.

The Thurlow Street seafood and chop house is currently accepting reservations for Valentine’s Day.
