The original shack at Fisherman’s Wharf serves up a variety of tempting chowders. Forage’s award-winning chowder is featured on both the eatery’s brunch and dinner menus. Winner of the 2013 Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown, Forage’s satisfying white fish chowder is comprised of bacon, celeriac, tomato, onion, carrots, leeks, potato, cream butter, and spices. The Fish Counter

This community-focused seafood shop, owned by Ocean Wise co-founders Robert Clark and Mike McDermid, ladles up a mean bowl of clam chowder. Using locally-sourced ingredients, The Fish Counter’s dairy-free clam chowder is made of sustainable clams, celery, carrot, and fennel stock, and is thickened with creamy potato.

With a seafood-driven menu it’s no surprise that YEW seafood + bar, under the direction of Ned Bell, serves up a delicious and warming bowl of clam chowder. Bell even earned the title of 2014 Vancouver Aquarium Ocean Wise Chowder Chowdown Champion. The Soup Meister

North Van’s Soup Meister offers three varieties of chowder: Boston Clam Chowder, Manhattan Clam Chowder, and a Seafood Chowder. While the white Boston Clam Chowder is considered to be the favourite, those looking to indulge in a tomato-based chowder should try the Manhattan Clam Chowder.
