40+ Metro Vancouver ice skating rinks to lace up at this winter

The winter is all about the snow and ice sports – skiing, boarding, hockey, and you guessed it – ice skating. Whether you can skate figure eights around Daniel Sedin or you’re just learning, ice skating is a Canadian winter pastime best enjoyed with a cup of hot chocolate and a group of loved ones.

In the spirit of the True North Strong and Free, Metro Vancouver has literally dozens of ice arenas now open for public skating, including a number of extra-festive outdoor rinks. With special holiday events and regular public skating hours, there are plenty of opportunities to lace up some skates and hit the ice.

Outdoor skating rinks

Robson Square

  • Open until February 2016

Grouse Mountain

  • Where: 6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver
  • Open as temperatures allow, typically until April

Skating on the Fairway
