ManTalks

ManTalks is well known in Vancouver for finding exceptional men who are making a difference in the world and providing the space for them to share their message to inspire, educate and transform your life, business and relationships. On Monday December 14 at HootSuite’s Headquarters, ManTalks will be tackling gratitude and growth.

In anticipation of the upcoming event, here are just five reasons why practicing gratitude can make you happier:

1. Gratitude puts life into perspective
Sure, there’s going to be bad days but when you practice being grateful for the good days, then it becomes a lot more difficult to complain and stay stuck in negative-land.

2. Gratitude helps us realize what we have already.
Black Friday, Christmas shopping, new car, new suit… gratitude can lessen our need for wanting more all the time.

3. Gratitude can improve your relationships
Focus on what’s going right in your relationships. When both partners focus on what the other isn’t doing, you take each other for granted – and then your relationship can be
filled with resentment.

4. Gratitude can improve your physical & mental health
Grateful people experience fewer aches and pains and they report feeling healthier than other people, according to a 2012 study published in Personality and Individual Differences. Gratitude reduces a multitude of toxic emotions, ranging from envy and resentment to frustration and regret. Robert A. Emmons, Ph.D., a leading gratitude researcher, has conducted multiple studies on the link between gratitude and well-being. His research confirms that gratitude effectively increases happiness and reduces depression.

5. Gratitude can help to reduce stress
Gratitude allows you to detach from a stressful period and savour a positive memory or experience. Want to learn more about why gratitude is good for you life, how you can implement it and hear how to use it to improve you finances, health and relationships?
