If it’s your turn to host Christmas Dinner this year and you find yourself in a bit of a pickle (i.e. short on prep time), why not treat yourself to the best turkey you’ve never made?

Offering oven-roasted turkeys, creamy mashed potatoes, and an array of Christmas-inspired puddings, here’s a list of local eateries and companies whipping up pre-made Christmas Dinner packages to-go with all the festive fixings.

Truffles Fine Foods

Truffles Fine Foods is offering a Christmas Turkey Dinner for four. Available for $150, the package includes an oven-roasted turkey, accompanied by stuffing, turkey gravy, and cranberry sauce. The festive food bundle also includes whipped garlic mashed potatoes, roasted root vegetables, and spiced rum raison clafoutis.

Railtown Catering takes the hassle out of the holidays with Turkey To-Go — a gourmet dinner package that serves up the perfect meal for 8 to 10 guests. Offered in both ready-to-eat and ready-to-bake formats, Railtown‘s Turkey To-Go package features a 16-lb sage-roasted organic turkey, along with a cornucopia of ready-made seasonal dishes — all for $279 (plus tax and delivery charges, if applicable).

10 per cent of the proceeds from the sale of each Turkey To-Go package will be used to serve meals to Railtown Catering’s neighbour, Mission Possible, a non-profit organization that provides street-level care for those with immediate and critical needs in the Downtown Eastside.

Lazy Gourmet provides a hassle-free Christmas lunch and dinner menu this festive season. For a minimum of six people, Lazy Gourmet offers a turkey with all the trimmings, an impressive feast if you’re feeding a crowd of people. The platter comes with starters (mixed greens with pumpkin seeds, cranberries and black current vinaigrette), supplemental sides (mashed potato, cherry tomato and basil stuffing, roasted Brussel sprouts, and cranberry apple relish), a herb roasted turkey, and dessert (a selection of Lazy Gourmet Holiday baking).

Boy With A Knife Catering eliminates all the stresses that are associated with cooking a Christmas feast. This year the catering company is offering a hearty festive spread, fully prepared and dropped off to your doorstep ($20 delivery fee) or picked up at their Richmond location in re-heatable containers. The feast will include organic greens with roasted butternut squash, butter roasted herb turkey with stone fruit and leek stuffing, sherry-thyme turkey gravy, roasted autumnal vegetables, roasted garlic and rosemary mashed potatoes, and an upside down plum and blueberry cake.

Sutton Place Hotel

If you would prefer to keep the celebration at home but don’t have time to prepare a full, gourmet Christmas meal, let the Sutton Place Hotel take care of everything with their scrumptious ‘Turkey To Go’. All you need to do is simply pick it up. The Sutton Place Hotel’s catering team will go through all braising, boiling, baking, and basting trouble for you to create a mouth-watering tour de force that includes a roast turkey, herb stuffing, veggies (Brussels sprouts, baby carrots, corn, cauliflower, red and yellow bell peppers), mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, assorted dinner rolls, and a cranberry Cheesecake.

Copper Chimney

Downtown’s Copper Chimney restaurant is offering a hassle-free, Indian-inspired Christmas dinner, takeout version with all the trimmings. The Holiday Turkey Dinner To-Go Package features a cumin and coriander roasted turkey, creamy yukon gold mashed potatoes, roasted root veggies, cranberry mango chutney and curry-style gravy, spiced Indian stuffing, and a pecan pie.

Price: $150 (ideal for 4 to 6 people)
