The Vancouver Canucks have signed 2015 3rd round pick Guillaume Brisebois to a standard three-year entry-level contract, according to Mikael Lalancette of TVA in Montreal.Brisebois signing

Selected in the third round this past June, Brisebois had a bit of slow start to the year with only 3 points in his first 15 games. But he has been much better recently, with 7 points in 11 games this November, which included this nice goal against Moncton:

Given that the pick used to select Brisebois was the primary return for goaltender Eddie Lack, Canucks fans have high hopes for St. Hillaire native. GM Jim Benning has spoken very highly of the young defenceman and hopes that one day he develops into a top-4 defenceman.

Brisebois represented the QMJHL in the Subway Super Series against Russia on November 17 and 19. He was not invited to Team Canada’s World Junior preliminary roster, but may be in the conversation next year as a depth defender.

Brisebois will remain in the QMJHL for the remainder of the season, working to round out his game.
