Former Vancouver Canucks forward, Zack Kassian, was sent to a Montreal hospital this morning after the truck he was in hit a tree.

Kassian played for the Canucks for parts of four seasons, before being traded to Montreal in July. Thankfully, it sounds like Kassian and the two women he was with are going to be OK. Kassian’s injuries were “minor” according to a Canadiens spokesman.

A 20-year-old woman was the driver and police suspect that she was driving drunk. The accident occurred at 6:30 am in the Montreal neighbourhood of Côte-des-Neiges.

TSN 690 radio in Montreal tracked down Steve Petrenko, who first broke the news on Twitter.

Kassian is scheduled to begin the NHL season with the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday in Toronto.
