Legendary Canucks former player, head coach, and GM Pat Quinn will be honoured with a namesake restaurant opening soon as part of one of the massive developments in Tsawwassen.

Pat Quinn’s Restaurant & Bar is touted as being a West Coast grill that will offer “offering approachable, high-quality fare with today’s best culinary inspiration,” according to the restaurant’s recent job posting. It will be a dining destination located at the Tsawwassen Springs development, which is a residential and golf course project in the growing South Delta community.

The restaurant is an endeavour of Shato Holdings, the Majority Owners of Tsawwassen Springs, along with Michael Bublé, Bruce Allen, Talisman Homes and Quinn’s widow, Sandra.

Quinn died last November at age 71.

Pat Quinn had been part of the initial vision team for the restaurant and the Tsawwassen Springs project, and his namesake eatery will be “a place to honour the man and the legend,” says the restaurant.

“Pat was more than a partner in Tsawwassen Springs, he felt like part of my family,” elaborated Michael Bublé in a media release. “This is a wonderful way to remember Pat and his legacy.”

The restaurant will feature memorabilia from Quinn’s lengthy career in hockey and in Vancouver.

“We will capture a lot of Pat’s accomplishments, and it will all be done in a very classy manner,” said Ron Toigo, Managing Director of Shato Holdings. “There’s a lot to cover about the man, his community he cared so much about, and his favourite thing after hockey: going out to a really good restaurant.”

And the food? “There will be beautiful steak, great seafood; everything that Pat liked. This guy was a world traveler. He went to the best places. He loved fine cigars and a nice glass of scotch or wine with a great steak in a great atmosphere, so this is not going to be a typical sports bar-type of place,” Bublé recently told SI.com.

The restaurant is set to open November 17.
