The second annual Doors Open Vancouver, held on Saturday, gave Vancouverites the opportunity to take a peek behind closed doors at 18 sites across the city.

This year’s event saw over 14,000 visits to City of Vancouver buildings and landmarks, up from the 8,600 last year, with the help of nearly 200 volunteers.

The most popular sites included the City of Vancouver Tactical Training Centre and the Carnegie Community Centre, which required pre-registration and were sold out within 36 hours of the location announcements.

Other popular locations included the Orpheum Theatre with 1,720 visits, the Vancouver Animal Services Shelter with 1,512 visits, and the False Creek Energy Centre with 942 visits.

New venues were also popular, including the Stanley Park Train Yard with over 3,200 visits, and the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre with over 500 visits.

Check out some behind-the-scenes pictures from the wildly popular event.
