Teen on Vancouver-bound flight charged for packing dynamite alarm clock

A teenager scheduled to board a Vancouver-bound flight is likely regretting his poor judgement to pack an alarm clock that looks just like a bomb.

According to the Toronto Sun, a 15-year-old boy from Toronto has been charged with mischief after security personnel at Toronto Pearson International Airport discovered the bomb-like device made out of sticks of dynamite.

As a precaution, it prompted an evacuation of the security screening area for two hours on Saturday evening.

Under all circumstances, the police bomb disposal unit is called in to determine whether the bundle of dynamite sticks was real or fake. The device had a timer and wires that ‘connected’ the electronic timer with the fake dynamite bundle.

Flights at the airport were delayed for two hours. The teenager will appear in court next month to face the charge.
