Sad news for Canada’s Genie Bouchard, as she was forced to withdraw from her 4th round singles match at the US Open today.

It has been a disappointing season for the 21-year-old from Montreal, who was ousted in the 1st round at the French Open and Wimbledon this season. Last year, Bouchard was outstanding in majors, making the 4th round of the US Open, the semis at the Australian and French Open, and the final at Wimbledon.
Bouchard appeared to have regained her form in this tournament, so this injury came at an inopportune time.
