Flanked by Surrey NDP candidates, Jinny Sims, Jasbir Sandhu, Garry Begg and Tom Mulcair announced the NDP plan for safer communities through investment in more frontline police officers.

Mulcair took time attacking the Conservative government who had promised Surrey 100 more RCMP officers earlier this year, but failed to deliver.

To achieve his goal for more frontline police officers, Mulcair and the NDP promise to reestablish the Police Officer Recruitment Fund that was cancelled by the Conservative government.

An investment of $250 million over the next four fiscal-years, followed by permanent ongoing funding of $100 million annually, will help fund this bold initiative.

The City of Surrey has been riddled with gun-crime all year, including 18 shootings in 45 days.

Polls show that the NDP are still holding on to their slight lead, although the results of the past few elections in British Columbia have swayed away from the polls.

C’est une belle journée, ici, en Colombie-Britannique. Lots of people saying they’re #Ready4Change
