SeaWheeze Half-Marathon traffic closures in Vancouver

The SeaWheeze Half-Marathon is happening at 7 a.m. on Saturday, August 15 and there will be several traffic closures as a result. Some closures start the day before the event on Friday, August 14. Expect the following areas to have closures (click on the hyperlink for details):

The website says to also expect heavier transit passenger volume and for buses to be rerouted. Visit translink.ca to find out more.

Parts of the seawall will be closed between Devonian Park and The Westin Bayshore as well as between Second Beach and Lumberman’s Arch from 7 a.m. until noon.

The SeaWheeze is a 21 kilometre long half-marathon that takes place near the sea and finishes off with the Sunset Party in Stanley Park. Registration is sold out, but you can still purchase tickets for the party at the end. More than 10,000 people are participating in the marathon and 15,000 are expected for the Sunset Party.
