The all-white backdrop of Canada Place’s five sails is the backdrop of this year’s chic, all-white dinner picnic.

Thousands of people began amassing at the entrance of Canada Place early this evening for Vancouver’s fourth annual Dîner en Blanc event. Attendees are required to wear all white and bring their own food and tables, chairs and table cloths, which must also be white.

As per tradition to maintain the element of surprise, the location of the event was shared to attendees at the last minute.

In previous years, Dîner en Blanc Vancouver has been held at Jack Poole Plaza (1,200 attendees in 2012), Creekside Park near Science World (2,600 attendees in 2013) and David Lam Park in Yaletown (3,500 attendees in 2014). Approximately 4,500 tickets were available for this year’s event.

Dîner en Blanc takes place in hundreds of cities around the world, having first started in Paris over a quarter century ago.
