A 22-year-old man has been hospitalized after four masked men entered his East Vancouver home in an alleged home invasion and shot him with a BB gun in the early morning hours on July 30, according to CBC.

The victim’s girlfriend, who declined to give her name, told CBC the men entered the ground level apartment wearing Halloween masks while she, the victim, and the victim’s mother were in the home.

She said one of the men was wearing a devil mask. She alleges the men shot her boyfriend in the torso with a BB gun and he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is unknown what their motivation was or if this was a robbery, and police are keeping mum on whether this was targeted.

The VPD cased the neighbourhood around Nanaimo and McGill Streets, but their search did not turn up any suspects.

If you have any information on this incident, please call the Vancouver Police Department at 604-717-3321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
