Main Street Station Farmers’ Market

  • What: This market features vendors lined up on the east side of Thornton Park on the sidewalk along Station Street, within ideal reach on foot for bus and SkyTrain users. Take note of new hours for 2015.
  • Where: 1100 Station St., Vancouver
  • When: Wednesdays, 2 to 6 p.m.; June 3 to October 7, 2015

Free food at Big Smoke Burger Vancouver grand opening

  • What: Big Smoke Burger is making its debut in Vancouver, and to celebrate, they’re giving away free burgers, fries and drinks! The Vancouver location marks the Toronto-based burger chain’s first venture into Western Canada.
  • Where: Big Smoke Burger – 500 West Broadway, Vancouver
  • When: Wednesday, July 29; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Oak Street Farmers’ Market

  • What: This young South Vancouver market boasts all Certified Organic produce, meat, and eggs. It’s run by the Unitarian church, with a goal of connecting locals to their food and farmers.
  • Where: Unitarian Church of Vancouver – Oak St. and West 49th Ave., Vancouver
  • When: Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m.; June 3 to October 14, 2015

Shorefest

  • What: More than 20 free concerts will take place at English Bay and Sunset Beach Park in conjunction with the city’s 25th annual Honda Celebration of Light.
  • Where: English Bay and Sunset Beach, Vancouver
  • When: Saturday, July 25, Wednesday, July 29 and Saturday, August 1; 2 p.m.

Honda Celebration of Light

  • What: Every year, hundreds of thousands of people flood English Bay to watch different countries compete using fire in the sky. Competitors this year are China, Brazil and, of course, Canada.
  • Where: English Bay – corner of Denman St. and Davie St., Vancouver
  • When: Saturday, July 25, Wednesday, July 29 and Saturday, August 1; 10 p.m.
