If the Abbotsford police pull you over, they may be handing out something besides a ticket.

Members of the Abbotsford Police Department (APD) will be handing out high fives, Tim Hortons gift cards, and bracelets to members of the public who practice safety when walking, driving and cycling in the community. It’s all part their new road safety campaign to acknowledge safe citizens on the roads.

“High Fives from the Five-O” is just one APD’s buoyant yet impactful initiatives to promote road safety and reward those who demonstrate good, positive road behaviour.

The campaign is part of the overall initiative to recognize safe decisions on the roads. Road safety has been a top priority for the APD over the past few years, in a hope to reduce the number of fatal collisions and keep the community safe.
