Vancouver Greek Summerfest, the city’s biggest celebration of Greek culture, is back, and it’s bringing 10 days of music, food, dance, marketplaces and celebration to the city.

Dating back to 1987, the festival grew from a church fundraiser hosted by the Greek Community of East Vancouver Society to a 10-day festival, spanning two weeks, and welcoming tens of thousands of attendees from around the world.

This year’s festival opens on July 2 on the grounds at 4641 Boundary Road, and features musicians, dancers, a capella groups, DJs, food trucks, local restaurants, a market place, a draw for a free trip to Greece and more.

With Greek Heritage month having just passed in July, Greek Summerfest is a great opportunity to take part in an institution of the Vancouver summer festival scene, and learn a thing or two about one the oldest cultures on earth.
