The doors to historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium open on Friday, June 26 as the Vancouver Canadians take to the mound against Hillsboro. The home opener marks the beginning of another legendary summer for the beloved baseball team, battling for their fourth Northwest League Championship in five seasons.
Going to a baseball game is more than just about what takes place on the field. The experience is overflowing with ample beverage options, dancing groundskeepers and a new addition to the fun-loving sushi mascots. The nostalgia never fades and the entertainment off the field competes with the action on the diamond.
“We can’t wait to kick off the 2015 season. It’ll be a great season for us both on and off the field”, says Jake Kerr, co-owner of the Vancouver Canadians. “We’ve got some exciting, new things in store for our fans.”
On select nights, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the new seating area at the “hey y’all!” porch, which is located just beyond the left field fence, designated for groups of 30 to 160 with an all-you-can-eat menu. A larger drink menu will keep adult fans happy, while the C’s have something extra special in store for the kids. A rumoured fourth sushi mascot and a new children’s play area are just some of the surprises.
On Friday, June 26, a fireworks extravaganza will light the sky above the baseball field, marking the start of yet another remarkable season. It doesn’t feel like summer without a game at the Nat, so grab a hot dog and find a seat at Vancouver’s iconic baseball stadium.
