Located under downtown’s Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Prohibition is a 1920s inspired bar. Offering a menu of craft cocktails designed by Brad Stanton, Prohibition is an upscale must-visit drinking destination in Vancouver. In addition to an array of tempting mixed drinks served from the basement venue’s gorgeous open bar, Prohibition also offers a range of delicious bar snacks and small bites.

Mosquito

Opened in February, this intimate champagne and dessert bar, located on Water Street in Gastown, is the perfect spot to enjoy an after dinner drink, as well as a decadent treat or two. From the bar, patrons have the choice between champagne cocktails, sweet wines, spirits and beer to pair with an enticing list of desserts ranging from $10 to $12. Creative and beautifully presented Mosquito’s desserts are like no other. A must-order is Mosquito’s peanut butter and milk chocolate bar, which comes served with caramel popcorn, caramelized banana jam and popcorn gelato.

David Gunawan and Dara Young, co-owners of Farmer’s Apprentice, have recently swung open the door to Vancouver’s first natural wine and artisanal cocktail bar. This unique drinking venue offers an ever-changing list of natural, organic and biodynamic wines, as well as a range of seasonally inspired small plates. The wine bar also features happy hour specials with everything on Chef Ron Shaw’s food menu available for half-price from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. each night.

Main Street’s recently opened Projection Room comes to you courtesy of the Fox Cabaret. This intimate cocktail and snack bar is located upstairs in the projection room of the former and notorious Fox Cinema (North America’s last 35mm adult movie house). Open daily from 5 p.m. onwards, the Projection Room serves a playful and varied selection of food and drink. The bite size menu is perfectly matched with an array of both classic and creative cocktails.
