19-year-old woman's arm amputated in Surrey train accident

A 19-year-old woman in Surrey has lost one of her arms following an early morning accident on a railroad.

According to CTV News, the incident occurred at approximately 12:30 a.m. when a woman was with a group of people who were jumping onto a slow-moving train on the waterfront near Old Yale Road and Timberland Road – just west of the Port Mann Bridge.

However, the woman fell under the train in her attempt to jump and lost her arm to the train’s rolling wheels.

The woman was rushed to hospital by paramedics. It is believed the group may have been drinking earlier in the evening.

Police are investigating the incident.
