The Vancouver Heritage House Tour is a one-day event that features some of the oldest and most unique houses in the city. On Sunday, June 7, ticket holders will have the rare opportunity to step inside lofty mansions and unique character homes. Proceeds from the tickets go towards the Vancouver Heritage Foundation’s ongoing conservation and education efforts.

The nine-stop lineup varies with each event, and also extends past single-family homes:

A special inclusion this year are two very different apartment buildings. See four lovingly cared for units inside the West End’s historic Queen Charlotte Apartments and three contemporary lofts inside a reinvigorated warehouse in Southeast False Creek.

Out of respect for homeowners, exact locations are not released until the day of the tour, and come included in the tour brochure. Here are the general borders for this year’s event:

Six of nine stops are above Broadway between Burrard and Commercial, including the West End, Kits, Southeast False Creek and Grandview. The others are off Kingsway below King Ed, in South Granville (just above 49th) and in Marpole.

The self-guided tour gives Vancouverites a whole day to get around to the homes and talk with homeowners, architects and experts in construction and heritage. See how others are living in heritage and get inspiration for your own project, or just marvel at the creativity and diversity of options on display.

Never been on a house tour before? VHF has a fantastic First Timer’s Guide to House Tours.

Tickets are on-sale now at Vancouver Heritage Foundation, or buy physical tickets at select partner locations. Check the website for full details.
