The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) is on the hunt for yet another sex offender, currently wanted Canada-wide.
Gary Vogrig failed to return to his halfway house last night. The 51 year-old is a two-time federal offender who is serving a four-year and six-month sentence for sexual assault and threatening.
According to police, Vogrig is known to police as having an extensive criminal past, with a history of assault, sexual assault, unlawful confinement, uttering threats and robbery.
He is described to be white, 5’11’’ tall, 165 lbs., shaved brown hair with a moustache and hazel eyes. Helpful indicators include a small cross tattoo on his right arm, an unfinished wolverine on his left arm and four burn marks on his left forearm.
This is the fourth high risk sex offender to that has not returned to his halfway house in May. Previous warnings include those of Timothy Daniel Jones, Rochard Thomas Galt and Gerald McLean.
Police ask those who see him or know if his whereabouts to not approach him and to contact 9-1-1 instead.
