12 ways to celebrate Easter in Vancouver

With Easter coming up this weekend, there are dozens of events in Metro Vancouver worth hopping over to. From brunches to egg hunts, clothing sales and parties, there is something for everyone – especially chocolate lovers!

Take a look at these 12 activities and start planning your weekend.

Stanley Park Easter Train

Ride the Easter Train, visit the Easter Bunny, go on an Easter egg hunt, join in games and craft workshops, and get your face painted.

When: April 1 to 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

VanDusen Botanical Garden’s Great A-Mazing Egg Hunt

Hunt for eggs in the garden with special areas for children ages 2 to 4, 5 to 8, and 9 to 12 years. Interact with animals at the CinemaZoo exhibit, decorate a clay pot, and plant carrots to take home. Meet the Easter Bunny, enjoy chocolate treats, and much more!

When: April 4 and 5, 10 a.m. to noon and noon to 2 p.m.

Fairmont Vancouver Easter Afternoon Tea

A longstanding tradition at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Afternoon Tea has delighted families for generations. Celebrate Easter in style with the two-day Easter themed Afternoon Tea featuring Devilled Organic Eggs, Dungeness Crab Cakes, savory tea sandwiches and delectable house-made scones and pastries.

When: April 4 and 5, noon to 3 p.m.

Easter sample sale

An Easter designer clothing sample sale will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Richmond, offering discounts of up to 80% off brands like Michael Kors, Super Dry, Toms Shoes, Kate Spade, Nudie, Just Me, Fred Perry, Lacoste, Modern Vintage, Majestic Paris, Nicolle Miller and many more.

Easter at Maplewood Farms

Lambs, goat kids, chicks and bunnies are born this time of year at Maplewood Farm. Arrive early for the Easter Egg hunt which starts at 10 a.m. and stay for a fun day with face painting, crafts and pony rides.

Eat hot cross buns

At Easter time, bakeries put out hot cross buns, a traditional seasonal pastry that has grown in popularity in recent years. Check out some of Vancouver’s best hot cross buns and enjoy a seasonal Easter breakfast.

Burke Mountain Community Easter Egg Hunt

With an estimated 900 kids, this Easter Egg hunt will include a live band, food trucks, firefighters and lots of chocolate. Participation is by donation.

When: April 3, registration opens at 10 a.m.
Where: Galloway Park – 3404 Galloway Ave, Coquitlam

Delta Easter Parade

The parade of children, Easter Bunny and Pipe Band starts at 1pm at the Delta Museum, and heads down Delta St. to an egg hunt at Memorial Park. Don’t forget to wear your Easter Bonnets and decorate your bike, wagon or stroller!

When: April 5, 12:45 p.m.

Easter Egg Hunt at FlyOver Canada

The Easter Bunny will be flying in to lead our young aviators in their search for chocolate eggs at FlyOver Canada. Children 12 & under are welcome to join the hunt. Each registered child will get to participate in the annual outdoor Easter egg hunt and enjoy a complimentary same day ride on FlyOver Canada, the ultimate flying ride. Pre-registration is required.

When: April 4 and 5, 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Where: FlyOver Canada – 201-999 Canada Place, Vancouver

Easter at the Cannery

The annual Easter holiday event returns with an Easter Salmon Egg hunt, crafts, games and activities for the little ones to enjoy. Activities are suitable for ages 2 to 12 years old, with Easter Salmon Egg hunts every 30 minutes, alternating between the 2 to 5 year olds and 6 to12 year olds. All Easter hunt participants will receive a goody-bag of Easter treats for their efforts!

When: April 3 to 5, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Easter Brunch at Grouse Mountain

This year’s Easter festivities will feature delicious brunch classics for all ages and an exciting Easter Egg Hunt led by the Easter Bunny himself.

When: April 5, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Grouse Mountain – 6400 Nancy Greene Way, North Vancouver

Party at the Blarney Stone’s Bunny Ball

Featuring DJs, live music from Vancouver’s top dance and party band ‘The Deep End’, the Jagermeister Ice Bar, photobooths, tickle trunks and prizes for the best dressed.
