Woman arrested after allegedly attacking WestJet flight attendant


A woman was arrested at Vancouver International Airport on Sunday for allegedly attacking a flight attendant on board a WestJet flight.

Global BC reported a woman was arrested after allegedly throwing a sandwich at a flight attendant and punching her in the chin. According to the news report, the incident occurred on board WestJet Flight 701 from Toronto to Vancouver on March 29.

One passenger told Global, “A women up front was very demanding, and the next thing I knew, there was a sandwich that was thrown backwards. The stewardess came up and touched her gently, and said you can’t be doing that. The lady started yelling at her, and said ‘you touching me, I’m going to charge you with sexual assault.'” The passenger then alleged the woman punched the flight attendant in the chin.

A WestJet spokesperson also told Global BC that there was an incident on board involving an “unruly guest” and that charges have been laid. The airline will not be making any further comments.
