The British Columbia Innovation Council (BCIC) New Ventures Competition is beginning its 15th year accelerating the careers of tech entrepreneurs throughout the province.

By challenging top emerging talent to enter their big ideas in the competition, New Ventures BC hopes to transform small seed innovations into successful businesses. The grand prize for the winning company? $100,000 in cash, along with exposure and mentorship from business leaders.

Participants will bring their ideas to discussion with entrepreneurs, mentors and investors over six months where they will build business models and refine their product. The competition is judged by tech industry veterans.

Being the biggest tech entrepreneur competition in the province, the New Ventures Competition has created over 3,300 jobs for British Columbians and raised over $200 million in financing since 2001.

The most savvy entrepreneurs, as decided by the panelists, will be in the running for over $300,000 in cash and prizes, including a $100,000 first prize, a $55,000 second place prize and a $37,000 third place prize, along with several other cash awards ranging from $10,000 to $29,000.

Entrepreneurs interested in entering the competition can enter their startup until 11:59 p.m., April 14, 2015. For more details regarding eligibility and to register, go to newventuresbc.com.
