On Thursday, March 26, 2015, restaurants all over Metro Vancouver will be participating in Dining Out For Life, an annual fundraising event in support of local men, women, and children affected by HIV/AIDS.

Participating restaurants have pledged to donate 25% of their food sales for the day to DOFL’s two registered non-profits, Friends For Life and A Loving Spoonful.

The proceeds from DOFL fund several free-of-charge programs that work with those affected by HIV/AIDS in Metro Vancouver, including the delivery of over 110,000 meals per year, nutritional counselling and meal planning, a variety of support therapies, and palliative care for home-bound patients.

HIV/AIDS hits close to home here in Vancouver; our Downtown Eastside maintains the highest HIV prevalence in the Western world, reaching as high 27 per cent of the population.

The full list of participating restaurants is posted online, and includes a number of celebrated dining destinations, like Chambar, Blacktail, Forage, Ask For Luigi, Gotham Steakhouse, Hy’s Encore, Hawksworth, Mamie Taylor’s, La Pentola, Wildebeest, and The Parker, as well as more casual options like select Cactus Club locations, Burgoo Bistro, Lucky’s Doughnuts, Doolin’s Irish Pub, The Reef, and many, many more from White Rock to Whistler.
