If there was ever a tech product most pervasive in spy movies and futuristic thrillers, it would be the smart watch.

Apple has officially jumped on board the time-piece trend already pioneered by Samsung, Motorola and other lesser-known companies with the unveiling of the Apple Watch at today’s Keynote presentation in San Francisco.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, announced the new product by flaunting its innovative status: “It’s the most personal device we have ever created. It’s not just with you, it’s on you,” he told audiences.

Available in stores on April 24, 2015, the Apple Watch will be shipped with three versions; “Watch Sport”, “Watch” and “Watch Edition”, aluminum, steel or 18-karat gold respectively.
