Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and reservation books are filling up across the city.

Whether you are in a committed relationship, with someone new, or single, Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to treat yourself and someone special in your life to a night out. Be sure to call ahead and get a reservation, since many of these special menus and events are bound to get booked up.

Here are eight great Vancouver restaurants (and two bars) perfect for Valentine’s Day dates:

Jules Bistro

If you want to feel like you’re spending Valentine’s Day in Paris without actually going to Paris, this will be the place for you. This chic little bistro tucked in Gastown is the perfect mix of ambiance and delicious, unpretentious French fare. A live pianist will be performing on February 14th so the romance factor will be bumped up another notch for seatings between 5:30 and 10:00 p.m.
