Knights of Dunsmuir podcast debuts with Bif Naked

KOD Logo Revised 2

After weeks of delays, it’s finally here. Vancity Buzz and AMP Records proudly present Knights of Dunsmuir. It’s a 60-minute podcast that will be heard weekly on this very website.

Hosts Trevor Dueck (me) and Jayme McDonald (the other guy) sit down with guests in the AMP Records studio and have 60-minutes of free flowing and thought provoking organic conversations. We will chat with celebrities, comics, scientists, journalists, bloggers and interesting people who will join us in talks that we can’t always have at the dinner table.

Once a month, more knights will gather and let loose for the KOD roundtable episodes where we partake in beers ‘n’ puffs and talk about random craziness with some of our local podcasting friends.

We invite you to listen every week and allow us to evolve as we work out the kinks and bugs.

Let us know what you think, have a say in some of our content, and provide us with guest ideas at our new Twitter handle @KnightsPodcast. Come and join the realm!

Here is a little background on Jayme and I:

Jayme McDonald (@MD_Boomsday) or better known as MD of Boomsday Alliance is a true “Universal Man.” When he’s not producing for some of Vancouver’s finest musicians, he’s spitting out rhythms of his own. HipHop Canada says that “MD is a new-school cat with an old-school mentality. His tuneage always gives a serious nod to the ’90s hip-hop sound.”

Jayme is just an all around good Canadian kid who happens to cheer for the Habs – please don’t hold that against him. When he’s not producing fantastic music, or hosting podcasts like Knights of Dunsmuir or Intergalactic Interviews, you can usually find him at home drinking Jack with his 26-pound, furry cat Alexander the Great.

Trevor Dueck (@TrevDueck), that’s me, writes a weekly mixed martial arts column for 24 Hours Vancouver which can be seen in the paper every Monday. He also spends a lot of time writing and rambling about movies and other interesting topics here at Vancity Buzz.

He also hates writing about himself in the third person so now I will say this, I don’t rap, I don’t have any musical talents, nor do I have any pets. I do however have kids, a mini van and live in the country. I enjoy marijuana and craft beer, love hockey, science and giving my opinion. I’m a twitter whore. Oh and before I forget…I dislike Stephen Harper and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

We want to give a shout out to Cloe Windus of Artropolis Media for creating our swanky little logo. Hit them up if you need a website, album cover, artwork, whatever you need. Maybe even back rubs. Who knows. Thanks Cloe.

Now enough about us.

We spend 60-minutes talking with one of the great Vancouver artists and humanitarians, Bif Naked. The Canadian Punk Goddess opens up about spirituality, health, music and armpits and we’re just along for the ride.

Major thanks to Bif for popping our podcast cherry. We will definitely have her on again. You always remember your first. Follow this lady on Twitter at @BifNaked.

Now without further ado, episode one of Knights of Dunsmuir.

P.S. we will be putting this on iTunes and Stitcher shortly. Like I said…kinky bugs.

Check out one of Bif Naked’s music videos.

Trevor Dueck Lover of film. I rate them with cute little raindrops. I'm also always on the lookout for interesting stories and experiences. Lover of talk radio and podcasting and occasionally host them. I do like writing about many other devious things. Favourite films of 2015 so far are "Ex Machina" and "Mad Max: Fury Road."
