The community has spoken, and STORYHIVE, a community-powered funding program from Telus, has announced the 15 winning projects to receive $10,000 grants.

The contest awards production grants and distribution opportunities, including on-demand streaming through Telus Optik TV, to content creators from British Columbia and Alberta. Local creators from Metro Vancouver, Victoria, Edmonton and Calgary first apply for $10,000 grants to produce a pilot and then the community votes to decide which projects get funding and distribution. Voting ran from November 10 to December 1.

The 15 winners from fall 2014 are:

Starting March 2015, the 15 finalists from Stage 1 will enter Stage 2 of the competition where one winning pilot will be selected to receive a $50,000 grant to produce their full series, plus a training and mentorship opportunity.
