It’s 10 p.m., and you’ve got the munchies, and you can’t (or don’t want to) find your pants and put on shoes and drag yourself out to the store.

Rather than settle for some stale Triscuits and that questionable jar of Cheez Whiz, Vancouverites can now order through SnackEasy, which delivers snacks to your door until 2 a.m.

SnackEasy’s founder Patrick Kelly may have landed on the answer to every stoner’s dream. Kelly, who wears every hat in this East Vancouver-based business, from web development to marketing to personally delivering every order has just launched this very DIY venture.

Delivering to Vancouver and Burnaby for now, Kelly hopes to soon not only bring on more SnackEasy employees, but also to implement more environmentally friendly delivery methods, since right now he’s getting each order out within about 30 minutes by car. For a $5 delivery fee (free for orders of $30 or more), Kelly will get you the chips, cookies, or ice cream you are craving, and you don’t have to leave your house. But, hey–put on some pants when you answer the door, okay?

We got in touch with Kelly to learn a bit more about SnackEasy.

Vancity Buzz: How did you come up with the idea for SnackEasy?

Patrick Kelly: My friends and I would always joke about how great it would be if we could order ice cream to our house late at night. Eventually I started to see this joke as an opportunity to meet a demand that no one seemed to be paying attention to.

Who is your target demographic?

The target demographic is anyone in the mood for snacks, who would rather relax indoors than wait at a bus stop in the rain late at night.

How do you come up with the snack selection you have to offer?

I wanted to start with the basics, but I’m looking to move toward offering a wider selection of locally made products by partnering with members of Vancouver’s local food community.

Any plans to expand the selection?

The menu is a constant work in progress. I’m excited to continually offer new products tailored to what my customers want, and I’m happy to listen to suggestions.

It’s 11 p.m. and you need a snack. What do you reach for?

I’m an ice cream fiend. My go-to snack is an ice cream sandwich or caramel Drumstick.
