NPA reveals $2.1-million donor list for 2014

Kirk LaPoint and the NPA have released their list of 2014 campaign donors with donations totaling more than $2.1 million as of November 4.

NPA’s contributions came in 6.4 per cent lower than Vision’s. Most notably, LaPoint’s largest contributor was The Great Canadian Railtour Company ($360,000), owned by NPA President Peter Armstrong. This contribution totals more than 17 per cent of NPA’s total donations.

In today’s news conference, Armstrong told reporters that he would not be seeking another term as NPA President. His donations to the campaign, corporate and individual, totaled $430,000, making it the second largest campaign donation in Canadian history.

Other top corporate donations came from Haywood Securities ($100,000), Savary Management ($75,000) and Macdonald Development Corporation ($60,000).

The party received contributions from 966 individuals, corporations, and unions.
