Coming off a convincing victory in Washington, the Seattle Seahawks will take on Washington’s divisional rival, the surging Dallas Cowboys, this Sunday, in Week 6 of the NFL season.

Last game

This past Monday, on a night where three Percy Harvin touchdowns were called back, the Seahawks asserted their dominance by running a clinic on the Washington Redskins. Although the final score appeared to be somewhat close, Seattle efficiently tore apart the ‘Skins.

Russell Wilson was the difference-maker and frustrated Washington throughout the game with his legs. He rushed for a career high 122 yards, which included a 9-yard touchdown. He put up 201 yards through the air, tossing up two touchdowns in the process. The ‘Hawks run defense, as predicted, put a lid on running back Alfred Morris, limiting him to an anemic 29 yards. As a result of offensive penalties, the ‘Hawks were held to 27 points, losing three touchdowns.

This Sunday, Seattle takes on a Dallas team that looks to be hitting their stride. After Tony Romo’s atrocious Week 1 performance, the Cowboys have learned to lean on the legs of their star running back, DeMarco Murray. With 670 yards on the season, Murray is leading the league in yards, and leading the league’s second best rushing offense — which is second only to the Seattle Seahawks’ rushing attack. Seattle has the league’s best rushing defense, so it will remain to be seen how Murray and the ‘Boys perform at CenturyLink field, on Sunday. The Cowboys, however, don’t have a strong rushing or passing defense, so it will be interesting to see what sort of attack the Seahawks employ in their encounter.

In this game, look for Seattle to establish the run against the Cowboys’ mediocre rush defense. Although Zach Miller is going to be out of action for a little while longer, Marshawn Lynch should not have a tough day at the office, on Sunday. Expect Russell Wilson to be efficient as ever through the air, and to lead a rushing attack that frustrates the Cowboys, similar to what he did in Washington. Dallas will take some shots downfield, as the Legion of Boom has not looked as airtight as usual. However, a young Dallas offensive line will have difficulty with the legendary 12th Man, leading to problems for the Cowboys’ offense. In a clash of the two best rushing offenses in the league, rushing will determine the outcome of this game.
