Clink, clink! Rosewood Hotel Georgia has announced that they will be opening their highly-anticipated underground vaulted cocktail bar, Prohibition, this December. The 3,000-square-foot bar invites guests to travel back in time to the roaring twenties with bespoke cocktails, live entertainment and sleek interiors that create a sophisticated ambiance reminiscent of the era’s speakeasies.

The Drinks

A cocktail offering, designed by award-winning bartender Brad Stanton, that incorporate house-made bitters will challenge convention, while vintage cocktails will honour the history of the craft of bartending. The menu will also boast an impressive champagne selection and a diverse offering of wines, spirits and craft beers – so several boozy offerings for all types of drinkers.

The Nibbles

The menu has been designed by Rosewood Hotel Georgia’s Executive Chef Ken Nakano. Items include Northern Divine Caviar, Belgian Truffled Pate and Smoked Duck Poutine.

The Design

The interior space has been designed by Munge Leung, the Toronto-based firm that also led the re-vamp of the hotel back in 2011. Its look and feel will pay homage to the 1920 speakeasies – think lavish black velvet drapery accented by support columns swathed in black leather with cross-strap detailing and velvet accents.
