"Prince of Pot" Marc Emery back in Canada, returns to Vancouver Sunday

Marc Emery, the man dubbed the “Prince of Pot,” is back on Canadian soil serving time in a U.S. prison for selling marijuana seeds to American buyers.Emery, 56, was released from a detention center in Mississippi on July 9, after serving his 1,825 day sentence, less all 235 eligible days of good conduct. He was transferred to a holding facility in Louisiana, then flew Tuesday to Windsor, Ontario, from Detroit. Emery and his wife Jodie have talked extensively in the media and online about the complications of the post-incarceration extradition process.

Emery has several speaking engagements planned for the week in Toronto, and is expected to fly home to Vancouver Sunday, according to CBC News.

“Marc will be getting right back to work at our Cannabis Culture store,” said Jodie Emery. The Vancouver-based business is an online publication and information portal with a storefront on Hastings at Cambie.

For her part, Jodie Emery has declared her sights on politics, including a bid to represent the East Vancouver Riding under the Liberal Party banner.
