Olympic hockey gold medalist joins Vancouver Police Department

Women’s ice hockey star Meghan Agosta is going to be suiting up in a new uniform this September: She’s joining the Vancouver Police Department.

Agosta, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, represented 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, and the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. In the Vancouver Games, Agosta was named MVP. Starting September 18, she’ll be answering to the title “Constable.”

Agosta tweeted the big news about her next chapter:

Agosta, 27, hails originally from Windsor, Ontario, and has a degree in criminal justice law enforcement and a minor in criminalistic psychology from the Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, notes the Sun. She has been married to Marco Marciano, the Canadian national women’s team goaltending and video coach, since 2012.

Most recently, Agosta was playing for the Montreal Stars of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League.
