Local Company Rallies For a Cause

Clearly Contacts Ice Bucket

To date, the Ice Bucket Challenge has raised upwards of $40 million for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis compared to $2.2 million raised throughout July and August last year.

Bill Gates, Jon Bon Jovi, Shakira and Lady Gaga (plus many more) have doused themselves in icy water to raise funds for A.L.S.  Beyond musicians, politicians, and movie stars, the business community has embraced the campaign. Business leaders are busy organizing buckets of water and donation dollars while hundreds of staff members are showing up to work with a change of clothes.

Recently nominated by Essilor Canada, the team at Vancouver-based eyewear retailer ClearlyContacts.ca rose to the occasion. With more than 75 participants, the entire team drenched themselves in the office courtyard early this afternoon. The company will match all employee donations.

ClearlyContacts.ca has challenged businesses headquartered in Vancouver including Mountain Equipment Coop, Aritzia and Best Buy.
