Manhunt: RCMP looking for Chilliwack double murder suspect

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police’s homicide investigation unit (IHIT) has issued a nation-wide warrant for the arrest of a man wanted for a “targeted” double homicide in Chilliwack.

The IHIT unit has identified the suspect in the recent killings as 33-year-old Aaron James David Douglas. Two men and one woman were found shot at the scene in a residential area of Chilliwack on Thursday, August 7. “Chilliwack homicide victims identified as 38 yo Richard Blackmon and 36 yo Tyler Belcourt. Female victim is recovering and will not be id’d,” IHIT said via Twitter late Monday.

Sgt. Bari Emam told the Huffington Post the shooting does not appear to be random.

Douglas has a lengthy rap sheet and is well-known to authorities. His criminal record stretches back to 1996, notes The Province, and has previous convictions for weapons and drug-dealing charges, reported the Chilliwack Times in January 2013, following Douglas’ arrest on suspicion of a December 2012 murder.

Authorities caution not to approach Douglas, as he is considered armed and dangerous. If you see Douglas, please contact Crime Stoppers or call 9-1-1.
