UPDATE: The Lions Gate Bridge has reopened with one lane of traffic either way. Heavy congestion continues.
All three lanes of the Lions Gate Bridge are currently closed due to a multi-vehicle collision near the north end of the bridge.
The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. The crash site is being cleaned-up, but police do not know when the bridge might reopen.
Traffic is heavily backed up in both directions and transit bus routes that rely on the bridge are stopping at SeaBus instead.
Those who need to cross over Burrard Inlet are being asked to use the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Bridge or public transit via SeaBus.
