Vancouver has a very important birthday coming up, and this one is a milestone.
The Stanley Park Miniature Train is turning 50 years old this week, and a family-friendly celebration is in order.
The typically seasonal train will be open from June 6 to 8 in honour of its birthday.
During this three-day celebration, free entertainment and activities will be available to the public, along with an inflatable bouncy train, face painting, Metis dancers and an interactive animal display.
On Saturday, June 7, a barbeque will be put on by Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services by donation with all proceeds going to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund.
The fund benefits both survivors and their families.
Another one-day-only event will be a Story Bus, put on by Vancouver Public Library on Sunday, June 8.
Among these events and activities will be a Vancouver Aquarium display, and train-themed crafts by Art Mania BC.
