Police are investigating a suspected drug lab on Kingsway Avenue near Clarke Drive.

Around 9:45 a.m., police responded to a building following reports of suspicious activity in a second-storey residence. When police arrived, they took one man into custody as he left the suite. That man has since been arrested on an outstanding warrant.

When police entered the suite, officers located a suspected chemical drug lab. The Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Hazardous Materials Team has been called in, as well as officials from environmental management.

Drivers can expect delays on Kingsway Avenue, between Fraser and Clarke Drive, for the next several hours as officials conduct their investigation.
